Pinterest: Not just for dessert and craft projects! Pt 3 (or WW2 edition)

Yes, I know. Part three. I swear it's the last!

Maybe.

These are all World War II pictures, that I hadn't seen. And although it's war, they aren't horrifically graphic (besides the destruction that's occurring) but there is some bombing, and bombed out images. If that makes sense.
USS Shaw, exploding during the Pearl Harbor attacks 1941
Berlin in 1945 (post WW2). Just destroyed
A boy in a bombed bookshop after an air raid in 1940. (somewhere in the UK)
The moment of detonation at Nagasaki, Japan (9 August 1945)
Battle of Britain (I'm not sure where in England this is from...or the exact date)

children (survivors) walking our of the children's barracks of Auschwitz, 1945
St. Lo, France. Post D-day

And because I'll be in Scotland in about a week and a half...here's the men of the 7th Seaforth Highlanders (of the 15th Scottish Division) in Normandy 26 June, 1944. They're being led by their piper. I love them already.

Pinterest: Not just for dessert and craft projects! Pt 2

Right.

Pinterest: Not just for dessert and craft projects! Pt 1

I love Pinterest. Like...LOVE. It's a bit addictive. Ok... MASSIVELY addictive. But one of the things I like the most is finding people with awesome history boards.

Is my inner nerd showing?

Bandi't Roost in 1888, the most dangerous place in NYC at the time
The Hatfields (of Hatfileds and McCoy infamy) in 1897

Moscow air raid, 26 June 1941

Olympic Nail Art

The Olympic athletes are sporting some awesome nail art for their home countries. I'm totally jealous as I'm far too lazy to attempt some of these intricate designs. Although I could probably get the red, white or blue thing going.

The Guardian Newspaper has a Pinterest board dedicated to Olympic athletes patriotic nail art, plus some additional patriotic/Olympic nail art. (Link:  Olympic Nail Art)

Inspirationail has a Pinterest board dedicated to the 2012 Olympic Games-Nails as well (Link: Olympic Nails)

The post is ridiculously picture heavy. And mostly American athletes because that's where I'm from but there are other countries in the links, promise! I kinda went overboard with the pics and the links to even MORE pictures. Sorry!

Pretty Little Liars is back on!

from Pinterest
I love this show...not always the clothes. But I love the hair and makeup. Plus the crazy story-line. I about died when Mona finally talked!

I have to fast-forward when Aria and Ezra do their thing. I know he's no longer her teacher but nothing about that relationship is okay. At all. And I've yet to meet a guy who's college/post-college that was actually interested in a high school girl. Okay, there was one I did know about. And he was arrested. So let that be a lesson ladies, creepers are creepers. And if you're under the age of 18...there's no reason to play with your teacher. Ever.

It's also probably not really that great if you're over 18. I wouldn't know. It wasn't my thing.

this is what I'm talking about. Is that a swimsuit? A bra?
Luckily, the ladies at Go Fug Yourself. com usually have some fantastic recaps of the fashions. That I usually miss. I missed that top that Hannah was wearing until it showed up on their site. Who lets their high school daughter out of the house like that. It's all sorts of wrong.  Which is sad, because I actually usually like Hannah's wardrobe but not this piece.

I'm dying to know who "A" is going to be. The mastermind person at least. I know who "A" is in the books, but I kinda hope they change it up a tad for the TV show, although it's really good and I spend half my time in suspense.

Screencaps are from GoFugYourself.com, the post about episode 3-1

The Amandas organize a bathroom

Organizing my bath products tends to happen bi-monthly. Mostly because I ask for bath products as gifts for Christmas and my birthday and because I'm a drug-store bath product junkie.

Unfortunately my bathroom storage is next to nil. And the bathroom itself is really narrow. Luckily between the Amandas Facebook page and Pinterest...I've found some ideas!

The Amandas bathroom and makeup storage ideas:

Update: Wow...I completely missed the fact that Amanda linked to this! Be still my heart! Since Amanda (and the rest of The Amandas) was nice enough to play down my crazy obsession with her...I'll mention that you can click the little tab under all this labeled "The Amandas" and see the rest of my love for her. Or click on Categories above...where she has her section.

And thank you Amanda for the love!

beauty...on the cheap

I LOOOOOOVEEE Pinterest. Sure, I spend most of my time on the site convincing myself I have the domestic superpowers of Martha Stewart instead of admitting the fact that I get easily distracted and would probably NEVER finish that DIY earrings holder.

But I'm a step up from some of my friends. I have never set a toilet on fire (true story) nor I have burned the kitchen in the dormitory with easy mac (also true story...). In comparison, I'm a domestic genius!

But that's besides the point. So...favorite thing on Pinterest has to be the beauty pins. Which is how I happened upon the Real Simple website. Some of these aren't new to me (lemon in hair, sugar as a scrub) but some were super interesting, although I don't know if I could bring myself to slather my hand in cooking spray.

Closets

I need a new closet. As in...I need an extension to my bedroom that is massive so I can build the perfect closet. It needs to hold all my clothes, and shoes, and jewelry. Because cleaning out my normal sized closet would be sensible y'all. And I'm too tired to be sensible!

Of course...there's a two story closet. That's right. TWO stories. I'll need to win the lotto for that particular design. Or sacrifice half of my future house. I'm slightly tempted too...

Right now my closet looks more like this...

Guess I should start purging, cleaning and organizing!

All the images are from Pinterest, except the last one which is from here
